Yala National Park
Yala combines dry-zone forests, scrub, grasslands, lagoons, tanks and coastal habitats. The park was designated a national park in 1938 and is home to an extraordinary variety of Sri Lankan wildlife.
The official Yala site describes Yala as having a leopard density higher than anywhere else on the planet. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.
